A Movement Born From Civic Concern and Community Action

We began as a conversation among neighbors—concerned residents who noticed how personal interests and insider relationships were starting to erode the county’s comprehensive plan and zoning policies. What began as informal discussions in the spring of 2024 quickly evolved into structured action. On June 3, 2024, we officially incorporated as a nonprofit, with a founding board composed of long-time residents and civic-minded individuals: Bill Russell, Michele Johnson, Becky Almy, and Tripp Almy. The team was soon strengthened by the addition of Chuck Bedell.

Our formation was rooted in a shared belief: that local governance should be guided by principles, not politics. Each of our founders brought experience from various levels of government—local, state, and federal—which helped shape the strategic direction of the organization. Rather than remaining passive observers, we chose to create a platform for others who share our values to come together and take action.

We are proud of the collaborative spirit that continues to define our work. From day one, our goal has been to foster an open, well-informed civic space where facts matter and public interest takes priority. That spirit drives every meeting we host, every email we send, and every report we publish.
